Noah Salasnek passed away April 19, 2017. He was 47. Although Noah and his friends made snowboarding cool by incorporating a skateboarding background, Noah always stood out and was known for his ambition, style, and his knack for transition. His triumph of high profile tournaments and his winning personality earned him a sponsorship with Sims Snowboards and immortality in the snowboard community. His signature Sims snowboards are still sought-after by collectors. His ambition continued into pioneering big mountain riding where he regularly risked his life in Alaska incorporating his freestyle past. The VICE documentary about him in the Powder and Rails series features even more to his legacy. The family Noah leaves behind are his numerous friends and fans in the snowboarding community. A tribute to Noah will take place at Boreal Mountain June 10th from 2-4 where snowboarders will remember how easy he made it look.
