Marjorie katcher was born in Brooklyn, New York to Dr. and Mrs. Morris Katcher in the fall of 1943. Marjorie was an intellegent and high achieving young lady, graudating high school at the age of sixteen and attending Rutgers University where she graduated with a B.A. Marjorie moved out to California and embraced the spirit of the times, becoming a self proclaimed flower child and living close to nature, embracing her own inner creativity and personal expression of life. In July 1967 Marjorie gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, Fontana, In San Francisco,Ca. They lived and traveled and grew up together. In 1975,Marjorie met the love of her life, Tim Butterfield, otherwise known as "Bird". They fell in love and were married. In 1977, Marjorie gave birth to another baby girl, Rose, and this family continued to grow. Marjorie was a dedicated wife and mother, and in 1982 an unexpexted blessing added more joy to the family, a son, Adam was born. Marjorie continued to enjoy the privilege of caring for her home and her family exclusivly until the late 80s.Marjorie worked in the human services field, assisiting in the classrom and caring for severly emotionally disturbed children at a live in program. She later became Program Director at Growth Opportunities, a day program for individuals with developmental dissabilities. Throughout her years of employment she brightened the lives of many people in need of support. In 2003 Marjorie moved to Georgia to retire. She enjoyed gardening, improving her beautiful home, creating artwork, playing with her dogs and making new friends. In April 2011, Marjorie was diagnosed with terminal cancer. She spent the last months of her life in her beautiful home being cared for by friends and family under the direction of hospice. On December 3, 2011, Marjorie passed away peacefully in the company of her daughter.
