Michael Alan Gillispie "Mikey" Obituary (1991 - 2017)

Michael Alan Gillispie "Mikey" was born September 11, 1991 in Libertyville, Illinois. Michael passed away suddenly on Thursday, September 7, 2017 in South Lake Tahoe, California. Michael is the son of David L. Gillispie (Ray, OH) and Lisa C. Yanez (Mesa, AZ). He has two siblings, Jake L. Gillispie (South Lake Tahoe, CA) and Leah K. Gillispie (Mesa, AZ) who were not only siblings but best friends. Michael is lucky enough to be loved by two bonus parents, Denise and Mikel. Michael is also deeply loved by his grandparents, Steve and Brenda Yanez (Round Lake Beach, IL) and Linda Gillispie (Round Lake Heights, IL). In addition, he has an aunt, uncle, cousins, extended family, and many friends, especially those in South Lake Tahoe, that loved and welcomed him with open arms. Michael worked at Tahoe Keys Marina for most of the summer, but mainly was adventuring in the beautiful area of Lake Tahoe. He loved music and could be seen dancing at any given time. Michael spread light and love to all that knew him. A Celebration of his Life will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2017, 2:00 - 5:30pm at the McHenry County Recreation Center at 3636 Municipal Drive, McHenry, IL. In lieu of flowers, please volunteer to help someone or do something kind in Michael's honor.
